Zachariah at 20 months!

Our little boy is now 20 months! This means in 4mths time, he will turn 2! Wow.. wasn't it just the other day he was born?

I am just gobsmacked by all the little developments at this age. All of a sudden, he is like a little boy in his own right. His personality is shining through along with his temperament. It's actually a really fun age for both Mr M & I. We love that he always makes us laugh every day and more importantly that our heart melts at the little things he does.
Here are his developments:
1) He loves his bucket & spade - Like a true little boy, he loves to dig lots of holes especially when we go to the beach. For some reason, he likes to put sand in his mouth. He must think it's lollies or something. Sometimes, he likes to just dig holes & put the dirt in the bucket. The more dirt the better.

2) He loves eating veggies - it's really funny, if he sees a bowl of rice with meat & veggies on it, he will always pick the veggies over the meat! He would then suck it for ages before spitting it out. We call him our little rabbit every time he does this.

3) He loves to push the pram - I think every toddler goes through this stage where they push every single thing that they can find around the house. He loves to push his high chair around the house as well not to mention his old baby's bouncer chair & two of his bikes. The whole house becomes a chaos zone.

4) We bought him his first ever McD's Happy Meal when he turned 20 months. Golly gosh, you should've seen how much he loved his strawberry thickshake. If he had his way, he would slurp the whole small drink which would've filled up the entire size of his tummy! He loves eating fries too. But the chicken nuggets failed the test as it has meat in it which he doesn't really like just yet (yes his father aka as a meatarian is devastated!).

5) Z & his dad loves to muck around and for some reason he also likes to bully his dad especially when it comes to bed time. He would kick his dad on his mouth & face and laughing in hysterics. He also loves to collide both Mr M & my face together so that we would kiss each other in front of him and that would make him so happy. He also likes to collide both of our faces upon his cheeks so that we give him a big sandwich kiss on both side of his cheeks.

6) He loves watching the DVDs - His favourites to date are Veggie Tales - Jonah which he pronounces as 'g'na g'na' and then he would drag me to the TV area to play the DVD. His second favourite is a DVD with all these kids singing Sunday school songs. His favourite songs are Father Abraham & Zacchaeous was a wee little man. He refers to this DVD as 'wee wee wee' cos he just loves the Zacchaeous song. We've just introduced him to Wiggles & boy the other day he sat down for the longest time to watch at least half hour of the DVD! Amazing! Oh & yes, he knows how to turn on both the TV & DVD player now.
7) We can all see that Z is a very clever little boy - He likes to screw things on & off. He absolutely loves putting on the seat belt and figuring how it clips & unclips. Similarly with the buckles on the harness of his highchair. He would spend at least 10mins just playing with it. The most amazing moment was when my mum showed me a trick that he came up by himself. Basically my mum has this magnetic necklace that can be opened & closed just by putting the two ends of the magnets together. So my mum gave it to Z with the two ends opened (so that it's like 1 single string). We noticed after Z had taken it from her, he folded in half & placed the middle of the necklace below his chin to hold onto it with his chin so that it would free his hand up to find the two ends of the magnet to clip it together. Both my mum & I were totally astounded! Where did he learn that from?!

8) He loves to kiss my tummy always saying 'mei mei, mei mei'- but then when we go out in public, he too also likes to show everyone his mei mei by attempting to lift my top up in public to show to people. Truly embarrassing moment but so cute at the same time.

9) He loves eating 'i-kim' (ice cream), 'ap-em' (apple) & 'cheeeeeese' and will always saying it to his poh poh & ah mah every time he talks to them on the phone.

10) He also loves putting on each shoe on your feet. He will make sure he finds the correct pair to match with the left & right foot. It's so funny to watch him putting it on your feet.

11) He panics when things happen too fast without explanation (eg. if daddy walks out of the house to throw the rubbish or if I walk downstairs to make his milk). So often we now sit with him and explain to him first where we're about to go & what we're about to do and then we would say 'you wait' and amazingly he understands & gladly waits on the couch while watching the TV the whole time.

12) He is very shy when it comes to playing with other kids he doesn't know. It will take at least 15mins of him hugging onto us for dear life with his face rested on our chest and not moving a single bit just so we wouldn't put down. Then after 15mins, he will slowly start to watch what the kids are doing although he still won't go and join them.

13) He still is a terrible sleeper. He wakes up at least once a night (usually any time around 2-3am). I can't wait until I have to tend two crying babies. Not!

14) He loves to sing and can hum the ABCDEFG tune all the way to the end. He also knows how to make lion, chicken, cow, cat, dog & snake noises if you ask him nicely. It's so funny to hear his response. He also knows what the letter A-E stands for if I ask him on his good days.

15) Oh & lastly did I mention how much he loves to touch foreign objects such as dead fish?!eeewwwww!!
