Zachariah at 18 months!

Little Z is officially 1.5y.o!! WOW!

Um.. can someone please tell me where did time go? wasn't it the other day Zach just turned 1? Has half a year literally flown past our eyes?!
Another list of huge changes in Z's development since last month! Here they all are:
1) It must've been overnight when he woke up and became a whole new person. He started to talk oh so much! All gibberish of course but non-stop. He would some times go on and on for at least one minute without any pauses. Raa raah... blah blah blah...yaah yaah yaah. He even loves talking to himself. It's as if he's on stage doing a show & tell and it's just him standing there giving a performance of a life time. Quite amusing to watch really.
2) Overnight, he started to speak a lot of words such as: Key, Dar (which means car), i-kim (ice cream), sssssssss (which means snake), mam mam (food), a a a a (han yu ping ying for 'I see Chinese words'), O-oh, amin (amen) - Every time if he hears the word Jesus, he would say Amin or if I sing him Amazing Grace, he would say Amin! (not even sure how he knew that was a gospel song!), mama, bah bah, yea yea (which is one of his all time favourite words), nai nai, g'ng g'ng (gong gong), bor bor (he's finally learned how to say poh poh), ah-pem/ahjie (apple), lilorlilorlilorlilor - Z does this tongue rolling action every time he says it! so funny! (which is fuchao for I'm coming I'm coming), bok bok bok (chicken), hos (horse), when you get him to point to his eyes in Chinese, he would squint his eyes before pointing to it.. so funny to watch and finally, tz-ay tz-ay (thank you in chinese) - what's really adorable is that some nights he would wake up in the middle of the night & we would always give him a sip of water but before we pass him his bottle, we would ask him to say thank you (yes we are terrible parents who even make their child say it at like3am in the morning) and even when he's half awake, without fail he would still say out in a loud voice 'tz-ay tz-ay!'. Our hearts would just melt right there and then!

3) He loves it every time we take him to Bunnings - He loves to push the mini trolleys, play on playground & above all, the cubby houses the best. Tip to all the parents out there of which I had to learn it the hard way, don't introduce your toddler to cubby houses unless you don't mind them destroying opening all of the cupboards in the house (kitchen/bathroom etc) and then watching in horror as they try to squish themself in the cupboard & then proceed to shut the cupboard door cos they think it's a cubby house! Grrrr!

4) The other day, he was in the bathroom opening the drawers being up to no good like usual. When he came out, he stuck this in his mouth! Wow my little boy has traded up from a manual toothbrush to a power one! not bad at all :) Mummy is so proud! LOL!

5) I finally took him to the maternal child nurse down the road from our house for his 18mth check up. To my surprise, his weight was only on the 30th percentile (a little bit below avg). His height for on the 50th percentile (avg) but his head size is at the 70th percentile (above avg). His weight is 11.1kg, Length = 82.5cm, Head circumference = 49.5cm.

6) His favourite food is still his nei nei (milk) although I now only give him 2 serves a day vs 3 serves a day. He drinks about 150ml-200ml per feed 1 in the morning & 1 in the night. Next, his fav REAL food is grapes followed by corn, then french fries (surprise surprise), ice-cream especially if they're on Pancake Parlour's pancakes & lastly we've just discovered, he loves flat pieces of seaweed! He thinks it's ateable paper! LOL! When he eats any of these things, he would always give a 'mmmMMMM' sound as if to tell everyone just how much he is enjoying his meal :)

7) He now has 2 more teeth currently growing out so altogether 6 teeth & on his way to eat a souvlaki with his bah bah!

8) We took him to get his 18mth chicken pox vaccination the other day. This was him in the waiting room at the doctors. All happy, mischievous little boy messing up the entire reception area.

45mins later, this is our not so happy boy!

9) I've discovered our little mr Vain loves watching himself on video playback. So in the mornings when we are super tired and can not wake up as early as our little man, I would put Z on our bed, turn my laptop on to play back all of the videos we have recorded of Z for him to watch it through. This can go on for at least 40mins & our little one would sit there so still & quiet while Mr M & I attempt to catch up on our desperately needed last few minutes of sleep :)

10) Z loves it when we read books to him. Every morning when he wakes up, he would get out of his bed & walk to the nursery to pick up all of his fav books. Usually he would bring one book at a time into our room & place it on the bed in front of me while he goes gets more books! Some times it's as many as 5 books on my lap! Then when he's ready, he will say 'up up up' which means he wants me to carry him up onto our bed and into my lap ready for the story telling from book 1 to book 5!

11) Finally, our little one is a terrible sleeper at night. He would wake up at least once a night. But then come the morning, our little man would literally sleep like an angel while his parents look like zombies and at times, waking up only at 9am! Hmm.. I don't think he's ready for school just yet. Haiz..
