My father in law is a sports fanatic (especially in ping pong!). To top it off, he's also a very traditional Chinese who still holds a soft spot for China even though he was never born there. So since he knew this year's Olympics was to be held in Beijing (his forefather's homeland), he went out to buy a massive 46cm Sony X Series HD TV just for this event about 3months ago. Not only that, he's also installed a satellite dish to receive Chinese TV so that we can watch the Olympic Games Live with no TV commercials.
Finally, tonight was the night. All the Ming household got together at my in law house to first enjoy a massive feast thanks to my dear mother in law. When the time was ready, all of us then sat around the lounge area to watch the opening ceremony which I must say was absolutely impressive. We finally left at midnight.
Then Mr M & I continued watching the lighting of cauldron until it was about 2:30am! The grand finale was definitely worth the wait!
