Zachariah at 10 weeks!

My little man is growing up so fast! Sometimes we think he's like a 6month old due to his size & his personality shining out.

Here are the changes we've noticed:


1) He loves to salivate - this is especially apparent when he's scared or uncomfortable. It's like all of a sudden he's forgotten to swallow his saliva.

2) My baby's head & face is very very dry - it all started when he kept on rubbing his eyes & then his face and then to his head. Before you know it, rashes came out and then spreaded across his entire head. Our local GP has officially diagnosed him having SEBORRHEA SCALP aka CRADLE CAP which is due to genetic genes. Arghh! So now we are using QV oil to put in his bath as well as QV cream to put on his dry rash on his head. If it keeps on worsening on his scalp,thenit may go into SEBORRHEIC ECZEMA We also put lots of cooking olive oil on his cheeks, chin & nose in an attempt to give moisture to his very dry skin.

3) Golly.. he LOVES to talk - especially to his daddy.. if you get him started, he will not stop. We took him to the docs the other day to get his dry skin/rash checked out. While waiting in the waiting room, there were at least five patients there also & all you hear is his dad & Zach having a dialogue. It was like ooh this and um that... it was soooo cute!


4) He is very inquisitive - I've never seen my bub soooo geh boh until now.. he loves to turn his head left and right/up and down to check out his surroundings. The other day I was singing and doing the action to Twinkle twinkle little star... and when I sung 'up above the world so high' and raised my hands up in the air, Zach decided to also tilt his head to look up to follow my twinkling stars. It was sooo cute! He also loves looking at the ventilators up on our ceiling. Oh and he loves bright colours. The other day his Ah Mah & myself were wearing bright coloured clothing and he just kept on staring at it... engrossed by the colours. His favourite is his bolster & pillow cases bought by his aunt Mee Yong (my cous sis). Some mornings, I find him already awake in his cot (without crying which is a milestone in itself!) and very entertained by the bright cartoon characters printed on the cases. The cutest is when I secretly see him talking to the characters on his pillows with his eyes wide open & his eyebrows lifted everytime he is amused. To finish it off, he would laugh to himself.

5) Bub's neck is getting more and more stable. Most time he can lift it up for about 5secs before it flops down again. So very cute! Here is he fascinated by his own face in the mirror ;)

6) Zach absolutely loves eating his hands! Arghhh! I can't get to stop him.. he always puts it in & eat eat eat! So now we're trying to bunny rug him again with his hands inside the blanket. He would scream at the start but then he would get so tired that he falls asleep. We've also discovered that he sleeps longer at nights if we bunny rug him very tightly even though he doesn't like it... oh well.. anything to gain sleep for mummy & daddy ;)
