Since he was our first child, we didn't realise how blessed we were to have a placid baby until our little princess arrived. She is the complete opposite of Zachariah. Her looks, her temperament, her eating habit, everything is the opposite of Zach's.
Here are their differences:
Looks:
1) Zach has my complexion which means he is white as snow - Davi on the other hand is as dark as her daddy - her South African blood is showing :)
2) Zach has my T-zone (eg. eyes, nose, mouth) incorporated onto his daddy's face/head shape, Davi on the other hand has her daddy's T-zone incorporated onto her mummy's face/head shape
3) Zach was born 20grams heavier & 3 cm shorter than Davi resembling more like his dad, Davi on the hand is more like mum :)
4) Zach was born with little brownish hair and Davi on the other hand was born full head of black hair (looks like my dosage of Omega 3 supplements worked! Ha!)
5) Zach opened his eyes from the moment he was born. Davi on the other struggled to open her eyes until Day 2 of her life.
6) Zach gave us a smile on Day 2 of his life. Davi smiled on Day 3.
Temperament:
1) When Zach was in my tummy, he hardly misbehaved at all except the occasional karate kicks. Princess D however was such a character. She hardly kicked me but she always moved from left to right constantly. At most times, you can see her elbow or some parts of her limbs sticking out of my tummy. She wouldn't stay still at all vs Z.
2) So when she came out, I had a feeling she would be a difficult child to look after and I was right! She wakes up every 15mins at night vs Z who would sleep for the full 3 hours before the next feed. When we were at the hospital, I was so tired that I sent her to the nursery to be looked after and guess what? even the nurses returned her back to our room after 1hour as they said she was too much to handle and waking up the other babies! lol. Z on the other hand, only cried when he was hungry of when his nappy was soiled. On other times (in particularly night time), he slept like a baby during the infant stage.
3) When she doesn't get her milk, she screams like a typical xiu jie but Zach just cried like a boy. She looks like a little baby birdy screaming for food every time she cries. Even Mr M agrees.
Eating Habit:
1) One similar thing about Z & D is that they both love their milk. However Z was a very good boy and latched onto my breast very quickly every time he was hungry. Miss D however would nibble in little bite sizes. She would latch on for 5mins and then latch off. And as soon as she latches off, she would scream! Arghh! A Complete nightmare cos I would have full breastmilk dripping on her face! poor thing! With Z it only took me half hour to feed him. Miss D however takes at least 1hour and on some bad days, it will take 2hours of latching on and off! It is so frustrating!
But despite their differences, we still love them both equally dear :)
