Zachariah at 23 months!

Oh don't u just love his Carter's jumpsuit outfit? We finally decided to dress him in this to see how he would react because he has not worn a jumpsuit that covers his toes since he was 13mths old! He wanted to pull off the polar bear face on his toes at first but then he started to fall in love with it cos I told him just how handsome he looked! My little vain polar bear :)

Zach has changed soooo much during this month vs the last. Maybe it's also to do with the fact that I'm at home with him more often and his behaviour are at times really good and at times really bad. He definitely craves for my attention and always want me vs Mr M.

Here are his developments:

1) He actually knows how to put shapes into the right holes in his toy bucket. He can also play all the applications he likes on his Daddy's iphone all by himself and we never taught him how to do it either. The other day, we were shocked to see him with daddy's iphone playing Wiggles! And then a minute later, Talking Carl or Talking Tom (the cat) would also be played! We were totally blown away cos he must've learnt it watching us play it for him. Oh & he also knows how to on the TV & play all of his DVDs on the DVD player (that I definitely taught him).

2) He can communication skill has vastly improved - He would speak at least 3 words in a sentence now. He would point to things & grab your hand to go somewhere he wanted. He's much better at following instructions now as he can decode what we're talking to him about better than the previous months. He knows how to say my name and apparently daddy's name is bahbah 'Vicky'. What a clever boy! lol. He also knows how to say our surname. He also know certain letters of the alphabet like O, P, Z, B etc. His fav/new words are: Spoon, moon, Hungry Jacks, door, piggy, lolly, sorry, hair, hand, bee - bzz bzz bzz.

3) He loves it when I pump out my hand cream onto his hand. He would keep on telling me to do little droplets 'there & there & there' all over his tiny hand. Then after having at least 10 blotches of cream on his small hand, he would smear it all over his bah bah's face to ensure his daddy got his dose of good facial moisturisation for the day :) It's now part of his bed time ritual which he has to perform before he goes off to bed.

4) He has also learned the art of manipulation - The other day he accidentally fell down & of course I hugged him & massaged his little bump. After seeing how much love I had given him all of a sudden, he decided to deliberately hit himself against the wall again & come back to me crying for attention. I was shocked to see his behaviour! This kid must know the 2nd one is coming really soon for him to have already started doing 'crazy' things to seek for my attention!

5) Grandma/mummy's little helper - Z loves to clean up things every time he sees either his grandma or his mama vacuuming or sweeping. He too takes the broom or the vacuum and helps out where he can. He makes more mess than he does cleaning it up...

6) Our little man turns into a puppy dog whenever he needs to poo - He would disappear out of the room some where or hides in the corner or behind something just to poo. He would NEVER poo in front of you. 'Tis so funny!

7) Z loves to be independent now especially when it comes to feeding himself. He likes it if he can feed himself vs us putting the food in his mouth. He especially loves taking the fork & stabbing it a thousand times before it finally sticks on his fork & goes into his mouth.

8) Z's personality is starting to come out - He loves things to be in order. The other day, he took out all of Mr M's cards out of his wallet & put them all in an orderly manner. All nicely in a vertical position joined together. He also does this with his toys. He would lay them straight in a line all over the room. It's quite bizarre to watch. The other thing I've noticed he does is that every time he wants to change a DVD, he would always need to take the DVD disk out & place it in its correct DVD case, before putting the new DVD in the DVD player. He will never put the new disk in until the old one is put back into its case. I don't know who taught him that! But I'm hoping this is a sign that he will be a very neat & tidy person unlike his daddy :)

9) Z absolutely adores watching Mickey House Clubhouse -After watching it, he just loves it every time we buy him anything to do with Mickey Mouse. He would just hold/hug it the whole day! He calls Mickey House 'Mi-neh-neh' & calls Goofy & Pluto 'woah woah!'. We've since got him a Mickey Mouse stuff toy which he carries all around the house. He also loves eating Mickey mouse apple (freezed dry) from Costco which he asks daily for! He also has Mickey Mouse playmats, plastic plates & bowls which he loves using & points to 'mi-neh-neh' every time. Super cute!

10) I can really sense terrible two's being just around the corner - This is due to the fact that he's now learning to test his limits & more keen on exploring unfamiliar territory. Even when we say 'no', he will still continously do it! Argh.. sometimes it can be very frustrating. For example, he loves to unscrew the lid of Mr & Mrs M's water bottles & pour the water all over the carpet! yikes! He also loves to open the cupboard doors & start taking the shampoo out unrolling the new toilet paper roll etc. He also loves to pump any sorbelene cream out of its bottle and all over the table/carpet. He also loves to pull out loads & loads of tissues from its box. He loves to play with switches - on, off, on, off, on off. Oh and the other day, bb Rykan came over for a visit. He was crawling towards Z's toys & boy was Z jealous! He demanded me to take all the toys away from him. I said 'no, you have to share' and he started to throw a tantrum before crying his eyes out. Oh dear.. a glimpse of the inevitable to come.. The funny thing is, when it comes to older kids, he plays better with them. But the younger ones.. oh dear, he doesn't like them very much! yikes!

11) Mummy's little boy - he loves it when I 'sayang' him. Whenever I'm putting him to bed, I would be holding my bolster towards my tummy (just in case he accidentally kicks mei mei) - but to my surprise, Z would always be pulling the bolster away from me & he would then crawl into my arms replacing the bolster as if to say 'mummy, I want you to hold me instead'. He does this every single night.

12) But for now, he is very affectionate towards his unborn mei mei? He always kisses/caresses her whenever my tummy is exposed. This will be the month when he finally meets her. It will be very interesting to see how he interacts with her. Stay tuned!
